I have been on 4 continents, which have helped, in developing many of the recipes. Cooking has been one of my passions since my high school days. I am a past winner of several Grand and Reserve Grand Champion titles from the Fort Bend Pecan Festival, Grand Champion Sweet Potato Pie Contest-Hot & Spicy Festival, the gumbo cook whose team won the Best Overall Cooks the first 3 years of the Bear Creek Park Pentathlon in Houston Texas, placed in the BASS PRO SHOP 2004 Katy Texas BBQ fish category, have won several Reserve Grand Champion and Grand Champion titles at the Katy Rice Festival, Katy, Texas and have placed in all 4 divisions of the International Rice Festival in Crowley Louisiana, winning the Seafood Division the first 2 years I competed 2003 and 2004. I became the first person to win the "Chef de Riz" title (best overall rice cook) outside of the state of Louisiana in 2004 and won the Central U.S. Champion in the GO-HAN 2005 Japanese Rice Cooking Championship and received an Honorable Mention for the 2004 Sweet Potato contest for the Louisiana Cookin Magazine Contest. In 2009 at the Texas State Rice Festival placed in all 4 divisions winning a 3rd, 2nd, 2-1st places along with Reserve Grand Champion and the Most Original Use of Rice competition.
